This beautiful riverside wedding took place in the picturesque town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire and oh my goodness this was an absolute beauty! The flowers were out of this world and I have never seen quite so many! The Bride’s mother is a trained florist and she created some breathtaking floral decor with no expense spared!
Ria and Jeremy’s wedding ceremony took place in All Saints Church, followed by a trip down the river to a marquee reception in the grounds of the ruby club on the banks of the River Thames. It was an obvious choice given that the groom was chairman of the club and the place had a lot of history for Ria and Jeremy.
The wedding preparations began with lots of fun and laughter as the Bride and her bridesmaids , including her young daughter spent a relaxed morning getting ready at the Bride’s parental home. Meanwhile on the other side of town the groom and his ten groomsmen (almost enough for a rugby team!) gathered in a local hostelry where the groom handed out a few gifts and had some pre-wedding photos taken.
The bride looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful lace sleeved bridal gown as she arrived at church and slowly made her way down the aisle to her eagerly awaiting groom. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers and the couple’s order of service had been designed by themselves along with all their stationery. With the ceremony completed the newly weds made their way happily down the aisle accompanied by their gorgeous little daughter.
After a few photos outside the church they made their way with all of their guests onto a private charter boat which then meandered down the river. This gave all the guests a chance to enjoy a Pimms drink reception accompanied by the harmonic sounds of a 3 piece jazz band. Golf carts were readily awaiting the guests arrival and proved to be a fun option to take them down to the marquee!
The marquee looked amazing dressed with beautiful ceiling installations, chandeliers and a combination of tall and low table centrepieces – the guests were blown away! Even outside the trees were decorated with gorgeous flower hoops and topiary lined the entrance way. Each table was named after a different flower and their seating plan was made using decorative flower pots. They had a beautiful screen full of old family photos and had a finger print guest book for the guests to have fun creating.
Their starters were a grazing style platter of hummus, tabbouleh and salmon, followed by a delicious harissa yogurt chicken or roasted rump of lamb with pomegranate salsa with various bowls of salads for sharing. For dessert they had mini panna cottas, mini brownies and personalised meringue kisses all served on afternoon tea stands which looked absolutely fantastic.
Many a story was told throughout the speeches providing many smiles and laughter all round. The evening progressed with the bride and groom cutting their wedding cheese tower, complete with their own bride and groom character cake topper!
Then it was party time! Their band kicked off the night with everyone taking to the dance floor and the music continued long into the night.
What an amazing wedding for an amazing family!
